To commemorate 50 years since the death of Edith Piaf, world-renowned French performer Patricia Kaas will be opening her new show “Kaas Chante Piaf” in London and this album will coincide with the launch.1. After a fabulous career of more than 20 years and international success, Patricia Kaas is still the rightful heiress to “La Mome” for audiences across the world. She has been awarded multi platinum status albums during her long career, and since the appearance of her debut album Mademoiselle chante... in 1988, Kaas has sold over 16 million records worldwide. In 2002 Kaas was voted the “International Female Artist of the Year”, and previous awards include “Best French Female Artist of the Year” (World Music 1991 and 1995), and “Female Singer of the Year” (Golden Europa 1990). She also has landed major acting roles in the film “And Now,…Ladies & Gentlemen” directed by Claude Lelouch and in the TV production “Assassinée” (Murdered) by Thierry Binisti.The Album was recorded at Air Studios in London with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, arranged, orchestrated, conducted and produced by Golden Globe winner Abel Korzeniowski, the new wonder-boy of the Hollywood music scene. This new milestone in Patricia’s career covers some of the most beautiful songs of Edith Piaf’s repertoire, ranging from world famous hits to some of her more confidential melodies.
